LINGUISTIC MECHANISMS OF EXTRACTION OF NEW MEANINGS WHEN MODELING THE PROCESS OF CONTEMPLATION IN THE TEXT
Abstract:
The article discusses the possibilities of modeling the process of contemplation in a literary text, including the self-perceptions of a contemplating individual. The research reveals linguistic means that make it possible to designate the reference points of consciousness on the way to a cognitive breakthrough and, post factum, to draw the trajectory along which it moves towards comprehending the essence or concretizing the general idea. It is concluded that the destruction of typologies, disintegration of the whole, composition, deconstruction leads to the acquisition of new knowledge, which are generated by the clarifi cation of the semantic structure of words, the identifi cation of their etymons, the association of fragmented meanings interspersed in various linguistic units located distantly in the text. Various stylistic devices are involved in the modeling of contemplation, such as syllepsis, lexical repetition, palindrome, metathesis, allusion, etymologization of phraseological units, creation of author’s neologisms, using the system capabilities of several languages. The cognitive and emotional potential of these techniques is assessed. The thesis comes to the fore that the multiplicity of interpretations of a literary text and the increment of meaning are the result of individual reader’s eidetic contemplations. The material for the study was the text of A. V. Lebedev “Tape Lento. Picardy diary”, the contemplative basis of which is stated by the author. The conclusions are made on the basis of linguistic observations correlated with the data of psychological research.
