SEMANTIC TRANSFORMATIONS IN POETIC MACROCONTEXT AND THEIR DEFINING IN THE AUTHOR’S DICTIONARY
Abstract:
The article presents the experience of fixing individual author’s meanings in the Dictionary of the Keywords of Georgy Ivanov’s Poetry. Two types of contextual environment of key lexeme are distinguished by the functional parameter: a microcontext implements the “closest” meaning of a word, a macrocontext — its poetic sense. Semantic transformations in the poetic macrocontext are understood, fi rst of all, as the process of formationof individual author’s symbols. The mechanism of such a formation is triggered by a repetition of stable associations connected with one of the key images of the poetic world, and their imprinting in the semantic structure of the name of the artistic concept. Orientation to the concept forces one to look for ways to refl ect in the author’s dictionary not only the system of meanings, but also the author’s senses of key lexemes, which name the concept, and therefore — to ask a question about the textual function of the language unit, to follow not only the syntagmatic, but also the paradigmatic transformations of literary text semantics. The author of the article believes that, despite the variety of author’s associations, the main clusters of symbolic meanings are fi nite, and they can be fixed in a lexicographic form. Dictionary labels include the thesaurus function “symbol”, which is used both in relation to traditional (rose, black) and individual author’s symbols (star, sunset). Referential interpretations, thesaurus functions of syntagmatic and paradigmatic types serve to recreate the structure of the macrocontext. The article demonstrates that, as non-usual symbolic associations arise, the role of a macrocontext in the process of their discovery and explication increases.
