CONCORDANCE TO THE POEMS BY M. KUZMIN
Abstract:
The article deals with the lexicographic product “Concordance to the poems by Mikhail Kuzmin” in the light of the author’s lexicography theory. The article traces all the stages of creating a concordance. The task of creating a concordance dictionary for any set of texts is divided into subtasks: technical, performed automatically, and substantive, requiring the adoption of various textual and linguistic decisions and “manual” processing of the results issued by the machine. The principles of compiling a dictionary entry are analyzed, its information blocks are highlighted. Examples of different types of marks are given: stylistic, encyclope- dic, grammatical. The main functions of the product are determined. The features of the printed form of the presented dictionary-reference book include the inclusion in it in full of contexts with prepositions, particles and conjunctions, i.e. non-significant parts of speech, which are the most frequent; using a lemmatized vocabulary. Samples of dictionary entries are given. Concordance is supplied with an extensive application, in particular: a frequency dictionary; rhyming dictionary of Kuzmin’s poetry; metric handbook; poetry index. The fourth volume of the Concordance published poems that were not included in the main edition of Kuzmin’s poems. Concordance is used as a reference publication and serves the task of describing the features of poetic grammar of the early twentieth century.
