SHADOW RHYME AND ANAGRAM (TO THE PHONOTACTICS OF VERSE)

In the article, using the syllabocentric approach to the sound texture of verse and practicing the concept of phonosyllabeme, the phenomenon of shadow rhyme is analyzed as a typified form of the sound composition of verse, that demands the indispensable con- nection of several chains of sound repetition in the final word of a line. The semantic and structural conditions for the transformation of a shadow rhyme into a device to establish derivational-motivational relations between segments of a poetic text, leading to the anagram effect, are explored.
