Abstract:

The article deals with spelling variation of terminological and professional lexics, included in the authoritative explanatory dictionaries of the Russian language (in particular, the dictionary of S.I. Ozhegov, N. Yu. Shvedova and the dictionary edited by A.P. Evgenieva) and having, according to the data of the National Corpus of the Russian Language, quite active use. The spelling variation of terminological and professional lexicon generally reiterates the spelling variation of lexical borrowings in the Russian language. This situation seems quite natural: a great number of Russian lexemes close to terms or professionalisms are the same borrowings in origin, but semantically they narrowed. The same processes apply to the native vocabulary of religious or ecclesiastical subjects, which keeps its linguistic status of the common language, including the possibility of different orthographic transmission. Special attention should be paid to the question of the orthoepic (pronouncing) professional norm, which allows or does not allow certain deviations from the literary norm.
