Abstract:

The paper, presented by the participant of the scientific project “Dictionary of M. V. Lomonosov’s language” Sergey S. Volkov presents an outline of formation of the new direction in the Russian lexicography — the development of the dictionary of the Russian intellectual. The paper substantiates relevance, scientific and practical value of such dictionary project, in particular its value for a cognitive terminology, history of languages for the special purposes (LSP) of certain sciences, formation and functioning of the idioterminological systems. Besides that, such dictionaries owing to specifics of their sources will include the lexicographic description of various angonims — the words unknown to the modern native speaker. To obtain information about such words is usually very difficult. The empirical base of the dictionary of the scientist’s language is discussed: it should embrace all available texts, including texts on the foreign languages. The dictionary of language of the scientist will become a sort of a guide-book to his scientific heritage. The key lexicographic parameters of such dictionary are listed in article: completeness, a multilingual thesaurus, broad semantic description, inclusion of toponyms and personal names, the special organization of a dictionary entry. The development of dictionaries of a scientist’s language will be an interesting linguistic experiment and will promote further research of language of science and the evolution of the Russian literary language.
