CAN A DICTIONARY OF WRITERS’S LANGUAGE BE CONSIDERED LIKE A METHOD?

The article extends the idea of Yu.N. Karaulov that the multiparameter dictionary of Dostoyevsky’s language is a special way of reading writer’s texts, a special method which enriches our understanding of the author’s creative works. Thanks to the offered model of the Dictionary the possibility of its consideration as a method of penetration into the properties of linguistic consciousness of the individual is implemented. The mentioned thesis is wellfounded if under a method to understand the way of a real object cognition which includes the processes of modeling and constructing. The dictionary in this case is both the hermeneutic tool for understanding not only of a particular writer’s work but generally his eidos and also the method of the author’s linguistic identity reconstruction and this becomes possible only if the elements of its structure, especially the units of the levels, are accurately correlate with the parameters of the dictionary (co-occurrence, word-formation, associative, cognitive, etc. of the described word potential) forming a kind of research and hermeneutic model. Besides, this model of the Dictionary should reflect the V.V. Vinogradov’s idea of linguistic identity development ability and the Dictionary itself is to fix the possible changes that occur in the author’s world-view.
