Abstract:

The article is devoted to the “Dictionary of Russian dialects of Old Residents of Baykal Siberia”. The material and sources of the Dictionary, principles of selection of the vocabulary and submission of illustrative material, the structure of the entry are described. A brief outline of the most striking phonetic and grammatical features of the dialects located in the studied territory is given in the article. The “Dictionary” contains the data collected during more than 150 expeditions held in the period from 1980 to 2011. The “Dictionary” contains the texts of different genres: tales, legends, bylichki. The narrative of the old residents of Siberia describes the Siberian village of the XXth - beginning of the XXIst century: people’s life during the revolution, Stalin’s repressions, wars - and also the every day events, hunting, fishing, harvesting, belief, traditions etc.
