IS IT JUST A NAME? (Ukrainian surnames spelling in Russian newspaper texts published in Ukraine)

The article deals with the tactics of Ukrainian male and female surnames spelling in modern Russian texts published in Ukraine. The author considers different ways of spelling root morphemes and finals in newspaper and magazine texts. It is argued that modern tactics of spelling Ukrainian surnames is phonetization and that phonetization generates graphic variability of Ukrainian surnames in modern Russian texts published in Ukraine. The author indicates that various tactics existence is a factor in orthographic destabilization of Russian texts published in Ukraine.
