EVAGRIANA PALAEOROSSICA. II. “THE PRACTICUS”; “TO MONKS”; “EXHORTATIONS TO MONKS”

The paper presents the second part of the publication of the Slavic translation of the ascetic writings of Evagrius Ponticus, completed no later than the second half of the12th century, presumably in Old Rus’. The surviving Slavic fragments of the following texts are published: Practicus (CPG 2430); Sententiae ad monachos (CPG 2435); Paraenesis ad monachos (CPG 2454). Among these, only a fragment of the latter work has survived in direct manuscript tradition (in a copy of the mid-15th century); the rest of the fragments are known only as parts of the long recension of the Prologue (copies of the 14th–16th centuries were used).
