ORTHOEPIC NORMS IN SCHOOLCHILDREN’S SPEECH: MISTAKES OR NEW TRENDS?
Abstract:
The article examines some results of the orthoepy part of “The all-Russian online speech culture test”. In particular, the present paper reports the results of the test-tasks connected with pronunciation of consonants [t̠ ʃ’] and [ʃ] in letter clusters чн, stress in the verb forms сорит (to litter), звонит (to call) and the nouns бант (bow-knot), торт (cake), шарф (scarf). The results of ‘The all-Russian online speech culture test’ have been compared with the results of the experiments in which the speakers of Modern Stan dard Russian participated. It turns out that the test results are irrelevant for orthoepic codifi cation.
The analysis of language development trends and common pronunciation variants in speech of Modern Standard Russian speakers shows some cases of norm change and non-normative variants of pronunciation. It turns out that deviations from the normative variants from verbs and nouns are the pronunciation mistakes. It seems reasonable to reconsider pronunciation variants of the words конечно (of course), очечник (eyeglass case), горчичник (mustard plaster), in orthoepic dictionary, introducing new pronunciation variants.
