THE ORTHOLOGICAL PRINCIPLE IN LEXICOGRAPHY

The article deals with normative lexicography. Its center of attention is Russian scholars’ activity. It is argued that dictionaries of standard language have not been apprehended in the uniform way. Outstanding Russian scholars were supporters of thesauri.
