Abstract:

Phraseological combinations existing in the modern Russian literary language have a number of distinctive features, and especially in the fi eld of accentuation. In some phraseological units, there is a shift of emphasis from the content lexeme to the service one, for example: vó sto krat (‘a hundredfold’), vstat’ ná nogi (‘stand on your feet’), ruka ó b ruku (‘hand in hand’). In these combinations, a preposition is emphasized, and a full–valued word — a noun or, less often, a numeral — becomes an enclynomen. This phenomenon aff ects a limited range of content and service tokens, which changes over time.
Most phraseological units with a simple accent remain frequently used. Some combinations disappear from the language, some lose their simple accentuation. The appearance of a certain number of new phraseological units with stress transfer is also noted. The author investigated and determined phonetic, morphological, lexical and extralinguistic factors aff ecting the peculiarities of accentuation of such phraseological units and the frequency of their use in modern live sounding speech. As a result, the work reveals trends in the development of these pronouncing norms.
