SLAVIC-ROMANIAN LEXICAL RELATIONS FROM LINGUISTIC GEOGRAPHY PERSPECTIVE

The paper deals with the analysis of the Romanian loan word distribution in the Slavic dialects on the basis of “Slavic linguistic atlas” and “Carpathian dialect atlas”. As a result, the conclusions on some Slavic word origin are made, namely of the adjective škrt ‘greedy’ and of the names for metal plough details with the inner form “iron” (*želězo, *želězъko, *gvozdje etc.).
