OBSERVATION OF DELEXICAL VERB FUNCTION IN THE MONUMENTS OF 18TH CENTURY BUSINESS WRITING

In offi cial documents of the 18th century, analytical constructions, such as uchinit’ nakazanie, consisting of a delexical verb and an abstract verb (usually a verbal noun), which determines the semantics of the entire construction, were widely used. The article is devoted to the description of lexical units that form a group of delexical verbs on the basis of which structures of the type under consideration were constructed in the business language of the 18th century. On one hand, the material for the research consists of documents created in the central offi ces, while on the other, it is comprised of documents of regional (Transbaikalian) administrative and church institutions, which, as the author of the article believes, makes it possible to observe the interaction of general norms and regional usage. The article presents a list of delexical verbs found in offi cial documents that includes their semantic properties, analyzes their compatibility possibilities, considers the nature of the interaction between elements of the class of delexical verbs of the offi cial language of the 18th century, and determines the features of the use of constructions with delexical verbs in documents of central and regional offi ces. Analysis of language material shows that most of the verbs found in 18th-century documents have been preserved in modern Russian vocabulary, but the frequency of various elements of the classes’ usage of delexical (deictic) verbs has changed.
