Abstract:

In the second half of the 20th century and at the beginning of the 21st century, in the period of rapid development of the mediasphere and various forms of media communication, a new type of creative artistic activity has emerged — interdisciplinary, multifacetedly interpreted media art. Media artists experimenting with various non canonical forms, means of expression and the latest technology have created new language of artistic communication and a new model of an active, creative member of the audience — a co-creator. The article discusses the alternative paradigm of poetic work, that is media poetry, and its diversity in terms of genre (video poetry, poetic clip, holopoetry, clip-action, interactive media performance, computer poetry, etc.). Unconventional poetic forms, their structure, perception and interpretation are determined by various materials, a wide range of instruments (from a simple video camera, to a computer, to complex technologies and robotics), alternative outer and inner structures and the properties of visual and language systems. Experimental poetry, which can be placed at the border of various media spaces (visual, text, sound, virtual and multimedia), is analysed at different levels: the conceptual level, the level of the creative process, the method, the content plane and the expression plane. In the intermedia discourse media poetry functions in a cultural, communicative, semantic and aesthetic perspective, and in many others. The bringing of poetry into the field of media radically extends its boundaries.
