Abstract:

The article addresses such tendencies of modern Russian speech development as the penetration of colloquial words, as well as slang and jargon, from informal into formal situations. Also, such phenomena as extra politeness and the use of a great number of loanwords along with vulgar and taboo words are considered. Summing up, the author puts forward a hypothesis that a new functional style of oral speech regardless of the situation has been developing.
