LEXICAL AND-SEMANTIC CORRESPONDENCES IN PSKOV-BELORUSSIAN BORDER AREA

The article is devoted to the results of the lexicographic description of Russian-Belarusian lexico-semantic correspondences. The source of the research is a new comparative dialect dictionary created by a research team under the guidance and project of the author of the article. A comparative analysis revealed 703 facts of lexico-semantic correspondence between Southern Moscow dialects and northern Belarusian dialects. This linguistic idiom reflects commonality in a number of key thematic groups: names of traditional buildings and their parts, items of clothing and footwear, food, household utensils, types of economic activities, women’s and men’s crafts. The complexity of a person’s inner world manifests itself in the sphere of general extra-utilitarian concepts and phenomena, including names of social relations and emotional assessments.
The study also showed that the results of the methodology used in identifying correspondences can be useful for practicing lexicographers in verifying obscured linguistic facts.
