“GOLDEN THOUGHTS ARE LIKE BEES”: THE COMPARISON IN THE POETRY OF M. KUZMIN

The focus of our study is one of the artistic devices of poetic language — comparison. The choice of this phenomenon of literature is due to the clarity of the boundaries of the trope (the work examines comparative constructions with the conjunction slovno ‘as if’ in the poetic language of Mikhail Kuzmin). The structure of comparison in itself is a minimal fragment of the text, which signifi cantly expands the variable possibilities of using its expression in a work of art. The main emphasis of the study is on the analysis of verbal-associative connections based on the lexical, lexical-semantic and figurative content of the comparison. The following methods of analysis were used in the work: corpus, semantic-stylistic, contextual ones. Unique in Kuzmin’s poetic work are such principles as combination of different types of comparative constructions in one work; the use of the “matryoshka” principle when distributing images in one text.
