Abstract:

The article deals with lexical units of colloquial speech functioning in modern poetic texts. These are colloquial words proper, as well as vernacular, slang, and jargon words, marked in dictionaries with appropriate stylistic labels. The main source of material was the publication “Russian Poetic Speech — 2016. Anthology of anonymous texts”, which includes works of 115 contemporary poets writing in Russian. The selected material was correlated with other textual sources, with the Poetic Corpus of the Russian National Corpus, and it was verified using explanatory general language dictionaries and colloquial dictionaries.
The analysis of the resulting vocabulary showed differences between lexemes introduced into poetic texts, according to the degree of their stylistic reduction, the nature of expression, their rootedness in the general language, etc. These differences are illustrated by collections of reduced words, both “old” ones, which have a long tradition of use in colloquial speech (авось, враки, лыбиться), and relatively new ones (бюджетник, по-любому). Special attention is paid to the textual manifestations of reduced words. Examples of the participation of such units in the formation of the sound image and in the figurative content of poems are given.
