THE METRICAL ORGANIZATION OF BORIS RYZHY’S POEMS AND ITS ARTISTIC ROLE IN THE FORMATION OF HIS POETICS

The article provides the results of the corpus research focused on a metric organization of Boris Ryzhy’s poems and the way it infl uences our perception of their plot and the system of characters. The poetic sub-corpus of the Russian National Corpus was chosen as the main instrument of the present study. The research focuses on the accentual-syllabic meters and pays close attention to the impact a strict verifi ed structure has on the reader’s understanding of both inner world of the lyrical subject and poetic space surrounding him. A signifi cant part of the article is the analysis of strict stress meters, or rather 3- and 4-beat types of them. Also, author made some essential explorations comparing the strict stress meters of Ryzhy and those of other poets of the 20th century. For instance, his 4-beat strict stress meters seems to have a tendency of reaching a s pecial monotonous form that can be characterized as the stylization for folk poetry. When analyzing the metrics of the poems, the clausula, the rhyming structure, the number of feet or beats and special rhythmic marks, if any were found there in the corpus, were also accounted for.
