GREEK πίμπλημι: ALTERNATION OR ANALOGY?
2021. № 4 (30), 38-44
Abstract:
The paper discusses the phonology of root alternation in the Greek verb πίμπλημι ‘fill up’. It shows the impossibility of the laryngeal interpretation of [a] and the optionality of the laryngeal explanation of this word in Greek. Analogical levelling model according to the type of πέρνημι is proposed.
