MODUS AND THE MEANS OF ITS EXPRESSION IN THE IDIOSTYLE OF A. PLATONOV (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE NOVEL “KOTLOVAN”)

The article analyzes the modus in A. Platonov’s novel “Kotlovan”. The ellipsis of the modus frames makes the subject of the modus indefi nite: it can be both a narrator and a character. A collective subject of modus is created in the text due to the fact that there is an ambiguously understood subject in the novel, expressed by a plural noun or pronoun, as well as the words “collective farm”, “mass”, “class”, used metonymously. Analysis of the frequency of the use of modus verbs in the novel allows you to highlight the verbs to see (videt’), to feel (chuvstvovat’), to know (znat’). The modus dominant of the text does not include the emotive plan.
