TERMINOLOGICAL AND PROFESSIONAL WORDS IN AN EXPLANATORY DICTIONARY: PROBLEMS OF INTER- PRETATION AND DEFINITION

Describing special terminological and professional words in explanatory dictionaries seems a rather profoundly researched topic in lexicography. Still some questions on the subject are very far from being consistently solved. Defining and explaining professional and terminological words is one of the most arduous tasks while compiling a general dictionary of any highly developed language. This contribution is an attempt to formulate and to discuss the most vivid questions of interpretation and definition of terminological and professional words in a general dictionary.
