RHYMING VERSE (RAESHNIK) IN THE NEWEST RUSSIAN POETRY

The article considers rhyming verse (raeshnik) as an independent system of Russian versification existing in folklore and literary recension, as well as in verse and prose representation. This type of verse, according to the author, is based on the rhythm of the lines and their fastening by regular rhyme only, in the early samples — necessarily adjacent. Taking the prose form it becomes the rhymed prose.

Traditional raeshnik is used in oral folklore (mostly — urban) and popular prints, as well as in so-called early presyllabics verse. Then with the help of this type of verse “The Tale of the Priest” by Pushkin was written, and then — the products of a number of the Silver Age poets, the early Soviet propaganda poetry (Mayakovsky, Demian Bedny, S. Kirsanov etc.). Now rhyming verse uses in not only in different kinds of stylizations, but in modern lyrics. It serves a wide range of topics in the poetry by such famous authors as G. Sapgir, V. Uflyand, V. Filippov, E. Kotlyar, A. Anashevich et al., which are analyzed in the article.

Nowadays rhyming verse can change its rhyming type, “lose” some rhymes, interact with other types of metrics.
