Abstract:

The article discusses the author’s concept dictionary model on the example of Georgy Ivanov’s poetry. Yuri Stepanov’s “Constants” are considered as a prototype of the dictionary of concepts. The author of the article emphasizes that the main diff erences between these dictionaries are in the type of analyzed concepts, models of their structure, in the way of description. Yu. Stepanov’s dictionary presents the cultural concepts of the collective consciousness, G. Ivanov’s dictionary is focused on the individual concepts of the poet’s consciousness, which have not a logical, but an imaginative basis. Although the model of the concept in Yu. Stepanov’s study and the author’s model are diff erent, the analysis of Yu. Stepanov’s lexicographic essay allows us to put forward general theses that are relevant for the compilers of concepts dictionaries of diff erent types. Thus, the structure of the concept determines the structural features of the dictionary entry, and the model of the concept itself can vary from dictionary to dictionary. The presented model of the literary concept includes the following layers: conceptual, imaginative, fi gurative, associative, symbolic, evaluative. Each layer of the concept corresponds to the zone of the dictionary entry. The article off ers samples of fi lling each of the zones. The author is convinced that the main problem for the compiler of a dictionary of concepts is to maintain a balance between quotations demonstrating verbal representations of the concept and the metalanguage of description, that is, between fi gurative in the language of the poet and logical, largely belonging to the researcher’s mind.
