THE DOMINANT FEATURES OF SERGEI YESENIN’S INDIVIDUAL STYLE IN THE LEXICOGRAPHIC REPRESENTATION

The paper discusses the dominant features of S. A. Yesenin’s individual style which were identifi ed by a linguistic analysis of his “small” poems. We qualify as those the language means appearing in the whole poetic cycle that represent the persona and the “conceptualized” author which embody the author’s consciousness. The persona is charac terized by vocabulary and grammar of the individual style: semantic classes of verbs, perceptive lexis, means of addressing, semantics of the personal pronouns and the words denoting space. The author’s consciousness is being investigated by means of the cognitive analysis of comparative tropes. The thesis is put forward that the further description  of these dominant features will help to analyze S. A. Yesenin’s individual style in its dynamics and evolution. It appears that an important milestone for reaching this goal would be the creation of an ideographic dictionary of such dominant features, organized as a concordance. As the review of the existing lexicographic sources (monographic and union editions) devoted to S. A. Yesenin’s language and poetics indicates, there are some lacunae in this fi eld that may be fi lled by means of the proposed concordance. The fi rst step in creating this dictionary should be the annotation of the whole corpus of S. A. Esenin’s texts from the viewpoint of all aforementioned parameters in order to prepare their further electronic representation.
