The object of the analysis is mineralogical lexemes in the poetic language of Andrei Bely. The subject of the article is to consider the functioning of these lexemes. Lexemes denoting gems entered the active vocabulary of the writer’s poetic language, became overgrown with a large number of derivatives and set phrases. The article analyzes functioning of these words, lexemes formed from them and fi xed word combinations in the poetic texts of Andrei Bely. Mineralogical lexemes were Russian poets’ favorite means of expressing ideas about nature, beauty, value, love, and feelings. Precious stones and metals, their derivatives and phrases are found in the works of most Russian poets, they are noted in the poems of A. S. Pushkin, M. Y. Lermontov, M. I. Tsvetaeva, V. Ya. Bryusov, K. D. Balmont, A. Blok and many others. Andrei Bely’s lyrics are particularly picturesque, he called his work “colorful transcriptions”, i. e. “the visibility of the poetic text did not cause him doubts”. This article researches the representation and features of the representation of images of precious stones and metals in the poet’s lyrics. The study has revealed that precious stones and metals are more often used in the images of nature and natural phenomena.
