«PHILOSOPHY OF CO-DOING» BY NIKOLAI FEDOROV: LEXICAL AND GRAMMATICAL FEATURES OF TITLES

The main object of the article are the titles of works (program articles, articles, essays, notes) included in the “Philosophy of co-doing” by Nikolai Fedorov (1829–1903). The structural, semantic and pragmatic features of the titles were analyzed, and their role in the lexical structure of the text was revealed. The main grammatical types of titles have been identifi ed: detailed titles, titles with clarifying and explanatory unions and turnovers and title-questions, as well as titles including a contrast. Depending on the author’s intension, the types of lexical structure of the titles have been identifi ed: titles with proper nouns; titles with authorial philosophical terms; titles with usual philosophical terms; titles that include a contrast expressed at the lexical level. The correlation between the title “Museum, its meaning and purpose” which includes the authorial philosophical term, and the meaningful structure of the text was analyzed. The lack of clear boundaries between diff erent types of names has been shown: since it combines several linguistic parameters, the same text name can be included in different groups.
