Abstract:

The article discusses some unusual etymological innovations in Iranian languages formed in different eras and in accordance with various areal and ethnocultural semantic foundations. The article contains information on three types of such innovations: 1) new areal words, built from the Iranian material, but according to substratum models; 2) new words based on areal ethnocultural and ethnosemantic foundations which maybe depended to substratum but not essential; 3) ethnocultural innovations in kinship terms, reflecting the family structure in a certain closed community.
