FROM THE WORKING MATERIALS FOR ISSUE 12 OF MSU’S ETYMOLOGICAL DICTIONARY OF THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE

This text is a preliminary publication of several dictionary entries extracted from the next 12th issue, with the letter «O», of the collective «Etymological Dictionary of the Russian Language», which has been published at the Lomonosov Moscow State  University since 1963 (initially under the direction and editorship of N. M. Shansky, since the 9th issue the project manager A. F. Zhuravlev). The proposed articles are written by A. F. Zhuravlev.
