DIALECTAL SUBSTRATUM OF THE PHILOLOGIST’S LANGUAGE PERSONALITY
Abstract:
After revealing the fact that the phenomenon of a language personality, which has a multi-layered form and an extensive typology, is well studied in Russia, the article considers one of the components of a language personality of a highly qualified philologist. Based on the self-reflection, the author shows the dialect lexical substratum of his own language personality using rich factual material (own personal dialect vocabulary which is still in memory from childhood) to show its volume, theme diversity, etc. Special attention is given to the discourse, textual realization of the dialectal substratum based on the pragmatic communication focus. The article includes texts which illustrate different pragmatism. On the one hand, it shows dialect words from the long term memory and passive vocabulary in the texts of “memoire” genre, on the other — spontaneity in using non-terminological, connotatively colored words from the main memory which are used in family communication, between student and for educational purposes. The author uses comparative method to consider the text implementation of his own dialectal substratum and materials of other dialect microsystems, artistic works, thus “own” vocabulary units delimit from “alien” ones. To conclude the author proves the rightness of the opinion shown in previous studies that a mature person not only returns at an older age to using own dialect vocabulary, but keeps it safe in memory throughout all life and renews it according to the nature of communication and epistemic level of the language personality as well as individuality.
