Abstract:

Active work on the lexicographic description of author’s neologisms began in the 1990s., when dictionaries of the neologisms of V. Mayakovsky and V. Khlebnikov were published. At the present time we can talk about the formation of author’s neography as one of the branches of author (writer) lexicography. This process is determined by two factors: first, the growth of a set of dictionaries describing neologisms of one or another author, and secondly, the formulating of theoretical basis of this lexicography branch by researchers. The review of the scientific literature and the analysis of dictionaries reveal a number of theoretical issues discussed by specialists in the field of author’s neography, namely: the interpretation of a new word as a unit of the dictionary description; classification of such units; development of principles of wordlist formation; construction of the type of dictionary entry, taking into account the specifics of the subject of description. The last problem is given special attention in the article: examples of the structural organization of dictionary entries containing various types of information about a new word are considered. It is suggested that the prospects of author’s neography are related, in particular, to the inclusion in the dictionaries of information on stylistics and linguistic poetics.
