“Lexicographic phantoms” — vocabulary entries, owing their existance to the wrong reading of the manuscript fixations of dialectal texts and separate words — are not uncommon in dialectal dictionaries of the Russian language. The present work has for an object the elucidation of such cases in a composite “Dictionary of Russian dialects”.
